The Problem and The Solution

Sin is the problem. God is the answer. His Son is the way.

28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips,
30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
32 Though they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
- Romans 1:28-31

Real Men Love Jesus

What is a real man? In our day, it can be defined in so many ways. Much of it is superficial and has absolutely nothing to do with being a man. After studying the life of various men in the pages of Scripture, here is the conclusion I have come to.

It's not defined by hunting, UFC and football. It's defined by faith, love and responsibility. It's not guns, beer and NASCAR. It's God, wife and kids. It's not demanding. It's leading. It's loving. It's being unashamed and pointing others to Jesus Christ. And that's it, real men love Jesus!
My hope for 2013 is that our churches in America become filled with Godly men; men who aren't afraid to worship, who aren't bored with God, who see the infinite importance of leading their family in Jesus Christ. I desire to see men who are not perfect, but sincere; Not sinless, but willing to admit wrong, pray earnestly and forgive others. God is looking for men like Joseph, Abraham, David and Paul; men like Peter and John. These are men who were by no means weak because Christ made them strong.
I'm not sure where or when the change occurred but men took a back seat and said to women, "You take the spiritual torch and I'll stay behind. You handle the spiritual side and I'll handle the practical."
Spirituality is not feminine. It is Godly! My desire, and God's desire for that matter, is that Christian men once again pick up the torch and run the race that the Apostle Paul ran when he said, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7).

The enemy wins when we hand over the spiritual reigns. God seeks men who are equipped and prepared for battle. I desire to be one of those men. Our churches need us. Our families are depending on us. Who's with me?!?
